Breaking: UNIBEN cancels all exams taken by student who said Aggressive Malpractice brought me this far

Few weeks ago there was this viral picture of a UNIBEN graduating female student who inscribed on her signing out shirt ‘Aggresive Malpractice brought me this Far’.

When I saw the viral picture I knew right in my mind that this was a joke taken too far which must be swiftly followed by consequences.

Well my concerned came through when I read the invitation to face a panel which the School Management extended to the student in question to appear before a panel for issues bordering on malpractice.

Having faced the panel the School has cancelled all the exams written by the student in question from 200 level to final year.

To make it more clear the impart of this decision is that the girl in question will have to go back to 200 level and continue her education if she wish to graduate from the School.

How painful will it be for a student who have spent 4 academic years in a University and almost successfully bagged a degree to spend another 3 years for the same degree. However it becomes more painful when one remembers that this student brought this to herself.

It is always good to catch cruise whenever opportunity calls for such but not knowing the extent to which one can go with the cruise is something that may bring disaster out of it.

Looking at the action of the student in question one maybe forced to ask what she was actually thinking when she wrote those negative words about herself, took a picture with it and posted it online as part of the graduation cruise.

A lot of people don’t actually look at the consequences of actions before taking them.

This student in question was so naive and ignorant of the fact that the University has the right to cancel and terminate her Certificate even after she has gotten it if it was discovered that she didn’t merit the certificate.

Actions have consequences and this should be considered whenever one wants to go too far in a drive to trend and catch cruise.

May set backs never get to us at the threshold of our achievement.

May we always think of the consequences of our actions even when we want to trend, go viral or catch cruise.

As we are catching cruise may we never forget!
