OBJECTIVE: That the class can understand that there is a price you must pay to receive your expectations from God as a prize for praising Him.

LESSONS:

  1. WHEN THE ENEMIES CAME AGAINST JUDAH
When King Jehoshaphat, who is our case study, learnt that a large allied forces of the Amorites, Moabites and Seir had gathered against his kingdom, he feared and declared a fast to find help from God since Judah had no strength to fight them. Thus, the Lord encouraged them to go against them tomorrow and he will fight for them because the battle was not theirs but his. So they rose early in the morning to the battle field. And once they started singing praises, the Lord ambushed the enemy and defeated them, as they fought each other and destroyed themselves.
  2. THE PRICE JEHOSHAPHAT PAID FOR HIS VICTORY
    a) Jehoshaphat and his people obeyed Gods words, and early marched against the enemies, carrying musical instruments, which is foolishness to a natural person.

b) They praised God for the beauty of his holiness. Which is to say, they too understood God as a holy deity and so consecrated themselves first, before offering Him songs of praise. No wonder, God was moved to give them victory.

c) They offered unto God a loud praise, which was energy Sapping (Vs 19)

3 . THE PRIZE JUDAH GOT FOR PRAISING GOD
Jehoshaphat and his people actually obtained help from God, which was their expectation. Besides, God gave them victory as promised.
Moreover, they were rewarded with much loot.
They also saw their enemies’ dead bodies littered all over with non escaping.
The people around became afraid of them for what God did for them.
Finally, they rejoiced greatly in later days as Jehoshaphat’s kingdom enjoyed lasting peace. Same way you shall live in peace in Jesus name. Amen.

CONCLUSION
When we offer holy praise unto God, He comes down to live in it and gives us our desires. (Psalm 22:3). Thus, as God’s children, let’s use praise to overcome challenges by faith in Christ Jesus, no matter how big they appear.
