RECORD BREAKER: AKUNESIOBIKE CELEBRATES HIS FIRST IRI-JI FESTIVAL AS THE NEXT KING OF IHITTEAFOUKWU ANCIENT KINGDOM

HE HAS ALSO RETURNED THE LONG FORGOTTEN TRADITIONAL WRESTING COMPETITION IN IGBO LAND.

Chief Amb. Dr Okwudiri Divine Nwandu – Afor 1 of IHITTEAFOUKWU, Akunaesiobike 1 of Mbaise and Odiuko na Mba Ndi Igbo na Ghana on the Tuesday 15th day of August, 2023 hosted the annual IRI-JI FESTIVAL in his Mansion house.

This event as supposed has attracted a lot of tourism in MBAISE LAND in recent times.

Endowed with mind blowing activities, Akunesiobike has also reintroduced wrestling competition (Ịgba mgba) which is part of the events that hood the Igbo culture high in esteem.

The competitors have been handsomely rewarded for participating in such epoch making show.

Recall that the great people of Ihitteafoukwu have unanimously elected Chief Amb. Dr Okwudiri Divine Nwandu to be the King of their kingdom in a non distant time.

The 2023 IRI-JI FESTIVAL was graced by dignitaries from all and sundry as well as the indigenous people of the land.

It is worthy of note that this is the very first of it’s kind in the history of MBAISE LAND.

In his remarks, he wrote:

Good day Dear Esteemed Brothers, Sisters, Friends and Well-wishers,

I Write to you today as a Proud and Grateful Son of Mbaise Land with Profound Humility to express my Heartfelt Thanks to all of you for making My 2023 IRI-JI Celebration a Huge Success.

Permit me to start by thanking my Amiable and Loving Wife, Osodieme Lolo Adaku Nwandu who have always remained supportive of our initiatives and always encouraged me to strive for excellence.

I would also like to extend my immense gratitude to the IRI-JI Planning Committee led by Engr Iyke Mbakwe, Dim Emeka Obasi and Comrade Ibeh for their hardwork, diligence and dedication in executing this Great Event.

I would like to further express my appreciation to all the Highly Respected Traditional Rulers, Ezes, Ezejis and other Titled men inside and outside this platform for all their support towards making this IRI-JI Celebration a Resounding Cultural Carnival.

My Profound Gratitude Also goes to My Entire Friends, Associates and Well-wishers on this platform who sent in Donations such as Cows, Rams, Goats, Cartons of Beer and Financial Support towards making the IRI-JI more successful, Friends and Brothers like Dr. Chinedu Anyanwu – Edu Spain, King Donald Nwachinemere, Chief I.G. Finally, I would like to thank in a very special way my fellow members of Amity Friends International Club for their support and participation in making this event a grand success, members like Chief Chimezie Njoku – CEO Chizet Group, your contribution and that of other Amity Friends members have not gone unnoticed and I am deeply grateful for all that you have done.

In Conclusion, I would like to say that this event would not have been possible without the support and participation of the good people of IHITTEAFOUKWU Land particular those from Umuezeariam, Umuediabali, Umunomo, Umuoni and Umunonyeoka Communities, you all made this event truly epochal and memorable and I say thank you so much for coming out to promote and showcase our rich cultural heritage!
